The provider community has been directed that COVID-19 testing and treatment for all uninsured individuals will be covered by WV Medicaid or WVCHIP during the national state of emergency.
The weekly $600 Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation payments provided for in the CARES Act will be disregarded as income for Medicaid and WVCHIP eligibility determinations. Regular weekly unemployment compensation payments will continue to count as income per current policy.
The one-time $1,200 stimulus payment provided for in the CARES Act will NOT count as income for any Medicaid or WVCHIP category and will be disregarded as an asset for 12 months.
